The Queensland branch of the Australian Medical Association has backed calls to introduced pill testing at music festivals, in an effort to prevent any more deaths. There have been increased calls for pill-testing at music events following the deaths of six young people from drug-related incidents at festivals across Australia. Addiction medicine specialist Dr Jim Finn told Sky News that he believes there is enough evidence to support a pill testing trial in Queensland.
